Millions of iPhone users across the globe look forward to the annual introduction of the next generation handset and this year that model is expected to be the iPhone 5S. New reports are suggesting that Apple are in the process of rolling out a new iPhone trade in scheme that would make purchasing one of these handsets much less of a financial burden for many consumers.iphone 5s

New reports are coming out of the US courtesy of Bloomberg that state that Apple are about to launch a new trade in scheme for iPhone consumers. This scheme would enable users to trade in their old model handset for a reduction in the price of the brand new iPhone 5S model. According to the report Apple are looking to team up with Brightstar for this scheme. Brightstar are a company specialising in trade in deals and they currently work with US network providers such as T Mobile and AT&T. With the new model set to break the £500 barrier and with many consumers facing financial difficulties the introduction of such a scheme would be welcomed.

Apple do already have schemes in place in both the US and the UK which credits consumers for their old device but none that offer a direct discount on a brand new handset. In the US Apple will offer a gift card certificate for older handsets which can then be used against new purchases. Here in the UK the current recycle scheme is popular and pays funds directly into the recipient’s bank account. The new trade in scheme that is being developed however will enable consumer to offload their old device and purchase a new one in one simple transaction. Apple already enjoy very high level of customer loyalty with many consumers choosing to stick with the company’s devices and this new scheme will further enhance their reputation in this area. The scheme will initially pilot in the US prior to the iPhone 5S launch and is likely to kick off here in the UK soon afterwards.

The iPhone 5S is likely to be one of the biggest phone launches this year and now existing iPhone users will be able to look forward to spending less on this new handset thanks to the proposed new trade in scheme that will enable consumer to get a discount for older devices such as the iPhone 4S.
