Over the past few months we have heard various rumours relating to the new iRadio music streaming service from Apple. Apple are getting set to take on the big guns in the music streaming world with the introduction of their brand new iRadio service. This exciting software will enable users to stream music to devices like the iPhone 5S in much the same was as rival platforms such as Spotify do. According to the New York Times Apple are currently at an advanced stage of negotiations with some major content providers while other companies have already been signed up to the service. Included in these completed deals are Warner Music and Universal. According to the report the reason why the deal with Sony Music Entertainment are not fully on board is due to a dispute over the royalties paid by Apple. This particularly relates to how much the American company will pay for tracks that are only partially listened to. It has been reported however that this is a fairly minor sticking point and the agreement should be sorted in time for iRadio to be officially revealed at WWDC 2013.

We will see the Apple World Wide Developers Conference get underway on the 10th of June and we fully expect both iRadio and iOS7 to feature heavily at the event. iRadio is Apple’s brand new service for the streaming of audio tracks in a similar manner to what other services such as Spotify and Pandora already offer. The fact that this new service carries the Apple name means that it should become an instant hit with millions of consumers across the globe. The new service will be linked to the user iTunes account although a monthly subscription will also be required At this moment in time we do not know how much this will be but expect a similar charge to what Spotify apply. iRadio is also rumoured to include some neat features not present on other software such as Pandora. These include the downloading of tracks straight from the interface and also the ability to rewind partially listened to songs.

We should get to here more information about iRadio at WWDC 2013 and the service should be released along with the new iPhone 5S in September. The iPhone 5 is also available now.
