We reported recently about Apple store managers bracing themselves for an influx of new products from the company over the coming months including the iPhone 5S and the iPhone Light. It is now beginning to look as though the iWatch, the new Apple developed wrist watch, could well be added to this list of new models. A new discovery in Japan has made the release of this exciting product look even more probable.
The new iWatch is a new piece of wearable technology from Apple that will offer a host of feature thanks to having the iOS operating system on board. We have heard plenty of speculation about this model since the turn of the year and now a new Trademark has been discovered in Japan for the name iWatch. This would suggest that we could see the product arrive very soon with many experts predicting a release at around the same time as the iPhone 5S. The release of the model highlights Apples attempts to break through in the lucrative far east markets where consumers are gadget crazy but do not necessarily have the big money to spend that many premium devices cost. The iWatch is set to be very affordable as is the new iPhone Light, another device produced with these markets in mind.
It is well known that Apple have been hard a work producing a new wrist watch and this has been backed up by comments that their CEO Tim Cook made at the recent All Things D event. Speaking about the concept he said that the wrist was “natural” place for such a piece of technology and that it was an “interesting place for such a gadget”. Some people may see this as a swipe at rival company Google who are adapting similar technology but in the form of eyewear named Google Glasses. Mr Cook also added “There are lots of gadgets in this space right now, but there’s nothing great out there…none of them are going to convince a kid that hasn’t worn glasses or a band to wear one. There are a lot of problems to solve in this space. It’s ripe for exploration”. It remains to be seen whether the iWatch will function as a standalone unit with call making facilities or whether it will be an add on o use in conjunction with existing devices such as the iPhone 5S.
Speculation about the new iWatch is increasing and we may be in line to see the product arrive this autumn, possibly beside the new iPhone 5S and the iPhone Light. There are currently some great deals available on the iPhone 5.
